3rd Grade Classroom Teacher

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Mathematics Teacher to join our school team and support our 6th grade scholars in achieving the next level of academic success. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong foundation in mathematical concepts across multiple disciplines, along with the ability to make learning both engaging and accessible.

This position requires creating a dynamic classroom environment that fosters deep understanding, critical thinking, and an appreciation for mathematics. The Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for implementing the Reveal Math curriculum, developing lesson plans, and utilizing effective instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Instruction will align with the curriculum map developed by the School City of East Chicago.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with educational standards and cater to different learning styles.
  • Utilize learning technologies to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement.
  • Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to design interdisciplinary projects that integrate mathematics with other subjects.
  • Provide tutoring and mentoring support to scholars who require additional assistance.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in mathematics education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field; teaching certification preferred
  • Proven experience working with students in a public classroom setting
  • Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts
  • Familiarity with the Reveal Math curriculum is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex mathematical concepts
  • Experience with classroom management and behavior management strategies
  • Ability to integrate technology into the classroom to enhance student learning
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that accommodates diverse learning needs

Pay: $50,000.99 - $65,550.00 per year
