Job Description: 4D/5D BIM Specialist Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled 4D/5D BIM Specialist to support project delivery through advanced digital construction workflows. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in BIM modeling and demonstrated expertise in integrating models with time (4D) and cost (5D) data. This role is crucial for enhancing project predictability, efficiency, and collaboration by linking scheduling, cost management, and design data in a coordinated BIM environment.

Key Responsibilities4D (Time) Simulation & Planning

• Develop and manage 4D construction sequencing simulations using BIM models.
• Integrate BIM models with project schedules (Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Visualize construction phasing, site logistics, and progress tracking.
• Support project managers with “what-if” scenario planning.

5D (Cost) Estimation & Control

• Extract quantities and validate data from BIM models for cost estimation.
• Integrate BIM data with cost databases and estimation tools (CostX, iTWO, Candy).
• Develop 5D models linking quantities, cost codes, and resources for accurate BOQs.
• Support tendering, procurement, and value engineering with cost insights.

BIM Coordination & Data Management

• Collaborate with BIM coordinators, planners, and QS teams to ensure model accuracy.
• Maintain data integrity between BIM models, schedules, and cost platforms.
• Support reporting through dashboards and model-based analytics.

Innovation & Process Development

• Identify opportunities to automate 4D/5D workflows.
• Support integration with 6D (sustainability) and 7D (FM) data where applicable.
• Contribute to digital transformation initiatives within the organization.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Specialized certification/training in BIM, VDC, or Cost Estimation preferred.
• Professional Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in BIM, with at least 3 years focused on 4D/5D BIM implementation.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Technical Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks Manage, Synchro 4D, Fuzor, or similar 4D platforms.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software (CostX, iTWO, Candy, or equivalent).
• Strong BIM software skills (Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, ArchiCAD, etc.).
• Experience with scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Familiarity with ISO 19650 standards and Common Data Environments (CDE).
• Soft Skills:
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and visualization skills for presenting simulations and cost reports.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive problem-solving and innovation-driven approach.
