Job Summary:
The 6G Welder is responsible for performing high-quality pipe and structural welding using GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick) processes on stainless steel and alloy materials. The role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and adherence to ASME Section IX and project-specific welding procedures. The welder ensures all work meets the required Qatar industry, safety, and quality standards within oil & gas, petrochemical, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform 6G position welding on stainless steel and alloy pipes using GTAW + SMAW techniques as per WPS.
- Prepare welding joints by cleaning, grinding, and aligning according to specifications.
- Carry out root pass (GTAW) and filling/capping (SMAW) ensuring full penetration and proper bead profile.
- Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, and welding symbols.
- Conduct visual checks and ensure welds meet quality standards prior to NDT (RT, PT, UT, MT).
- Follow correct welding parameters (current, voltage, speed, gas flow) as defined in WPS.
- Perform welding in various positions, including vertical, overhead, and confined areas.
- Support welding inspection, hydrotesting, and repair work as instructed.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and report any malfunctions.
- Adhere strictly to QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) standards at all times.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: ITI / Diploma in Welding Technology or equivalent technical qualification.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years experience in 6G welding in oil & gas, construction, or industrial projects in Qatar or GCC.
- Certifications:
- Valid 6G Welder Qualification Certificate (TIG + SMAW) approved by DNV / BV / TUV / ABS / SGS or client.
- Valid WPS/WPQ (Welder Performance Qualification) as per ASME Section IX.
- H2S, PTW, and confined space training certificates preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Expertise in GTAW and SMAW welding on stainless steel, alloy, and carbon steel materials.
- Strong understanding of welding parameters, metallurgy, and heat control.
- Knowledge of ASME, API, and AWS welding codes and standards.
- Ability to work from isometric drawings and fabrication sketches.
- Skilled in pipe alignment, tack welding, and joint preparation.
- Capable of working efficiently in tight schedules and under supervision.
- Commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.

Pay: QAR2,000.00 - QAR2,500.00 per month
