About the student
- 6th grade student
- The student needs to work with a tutor for support with ELA (reading & writing) and math.
- The student is a 6th grader attending Windsor Knolls Elementary School. She has an IEP and high functioning autism.
- The family is asking for a tutor who has experience working with special needs students.
- The student's abilities have improved since she started working with a tutor. She needs a new tutor now. She currently needs some extra support when it comes to her reading and math and sometimes writing as she is behind in grade level and needs one-on-one support. She has been struggling with content retention and fully understanding the lessons.
- The goal for the student is to continue building her foundational skills when it comes to reading and math, with a special focus on grammar and getting caught up to grade level.
- The family wants 1 hour sessions 2 times a week, between 4pm-7pm, any day Monday through Thursday.
- The family is seeking a tutor who can meet at their home in Monrovia by the Landsdale Gazebo (park) not far from Green Valley Elementary School.
Qualifications
- Ideal candidates have prior experience working with students with special needs.
- Ideal candidates will have experience teaching elementary ELA and math.
- Ideal candidates will have a valid teaching certificate.
- Willing to travel within your preferred local radius to meet the student (typically 5-10 miles)
- Due to insurance requirements, applicants must not be a minor.
Student Availability
MON-THUR: 4:00pm-7:00pm
Pay & Benefits
- $25.00-$30.00+ per hour
