Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Wagon Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating flatbed lorries to transport goods across designated routes. This role requires a professional attitude, excellent driving skills, and a commitment to safety and punctuality. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic logistics environment, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of service. Monday - Thursday 7am - 12pm. On occasions increased hours will be required to cover annual holidays.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 flatbed wagons for the transportation of goods and materials.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness.
• Load and secure cargo appropriately, adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
• Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while complying with all traffic laws.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance logs.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues on the road.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations during operations.
• Assist with unloading cargo at delivery points when necessary.

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed or wagon vehicles.
• Previous delivery driver experience is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with driving regulations and safety standards related to Class 1 vehicles.
• Experience in handling large or specialised vehicles such as flatbeds is advantageous.
• A clean driving licence suitable for Class 1 wagon operation is essential. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional seeking a challenging yet rewarding position within the logistics sector, committed to delivering excellent service safely and efficiently.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
