Winslow Junior High School-August 2026-2027 School Year

Winslow Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and versatile Science Teacher to join the WJHS Team. We are looking for an innovative, collaborative educator to join a professional community that prides itself on teamwork and a shared commitment to excellence. We work together to foster a safe, respectful, and high-energy learning environment for both students and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging, standards-based science lessons aligned with Maine Learning Results and district curriculum guidelines.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of all students, including students with IEPs and 504 plans.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Incorporate literacy and numeracy skills within science instruction to support interdisciplinary learning.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and classroom expectations.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, and administration to support student success.
  • Support school-wide initiatives, including PBIS, and extracurricular activities as appropriate.
  • Serve as a positive role model and contribute to a respectful, student-centered school culture.

Qualifications

  • Science Endorsement Certification or eligible for certification.
  • Experience teaching Science preferred
