Responsibilities

• Receive and prioritize emergency calls from the public using multi-line phone systems, ensuring rapid assessment of each situation.
• Gather essential information through phone triage, including medical symptoms, location details, and incident specifics, while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
• Dispatch appropriate emergency responders such as law enforcement officers, paramedics, or fire services using GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools for accurate location tracking.
• Maintain clear and concise communication with first responders during incidents, providing updates and critical information as needed.
• Enter data accurately into dispatch systems, including detailed incident reports, logs, and transcription of conversations for record-keeping.
• Manage conflict situations with professionalism and negotiation skills to de-escalate tense interactions while ensuring safety for all parties involved.
• Monitor security camera feeds and coordinate with law enforcement or security personnel during ongoing incidents or investigations.

Skills

• Prior experience as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or in medical terminology enhances your ability to handle medical emergencies effectively.
• Proficiency with GIS mapping tools, GPS technology, and multi-line phone systems is essential for precise dispatching.
• Strong analysis skills enable quick assessment of situations to determine appropriate responses.
• Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—are vital for clear instructions and effective coordination.
• Ability to perform data entry accurately under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Knowledge of security protocols and conflict management techniques helps manage high-stress scenarios confidently.
• Familiarity with law enforcement procedures and first aid practices supports comprehensive emergency response efforts.
