Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented ABA Certified Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support a wide range of legal practices, including estate planning, landlord-tenant, and family law. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, legal research expertise, and proficiency with case management and document review systems. As an ABA Certified Paralegal, you will play a vital role in assisting attorneys with case preparation, legal drafting, and administrative support to ensure efficient and effective legal services.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis, and other research tools to support various practice areas such as appeals and appeals, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, and litigation.
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents including contracts, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail.
- Manage legal case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw; ensure all files are organized, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
- Perform document review for accuracy and completeness; identify relevant information for case development.
- Support project management efforts by coordinating deadlines, scheduling meetings, and tracking case progress across multiple practice areas.
- Conduct client interviews and gather necessary documentation while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Proofread and transcribe legal documents to ensure clarity and correctness; assist with filing and data entry tasks within the law office’s administrative systems.
- Provide executive administrative support by managing calendars, preparing reports, and handling correspondence efficiently.
- Maintain knowledge of various legal fields including landlord-tenant law, family law, appeals.
Qualifications
- Paralegal experience with a focus on multiple practice areas such as estate planning, family law, appeals and .
- Certification from the American Bar Association (ABA) as a Certified Paralegal (CP) or equivalent credential is required.
- Strong knowledge of legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis; experience with legal case management software such as iManage or PCLaw is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience in legal drafting, proofreading, transcription, and document review processes.
- Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—and professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team setting.
- Strong clerical skills including data entry, filing procedures, record keeping, and administrative support functions.
