About the Role & Program

The ABC News Special Projects group focuses on delivering standout specials, securing high-profile exclusives and shaping culturally significant content across ABC News and Disney Entertainment Networks, including Disney+ and Hulu. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to some of the most high-profile editorial and entertainment projects at Disney Entertainment Networks. You will be encouraged to be hands-on, and your responsibilities will increase as you learn throughout the internship and based on previous experience. This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the NY, NY area from June 2026-January 2027.


What You Will Do
:

You’ll have the chance to conduct research, fact-check existing work, and prepare regular reports and summaries on a wide variety of topics. You’ll also assist with special content projects, including coordinating travel, logistics, and production deadlines. On some days, you might:

  • Draft letters, emails, and slide decks on behalf of the team and proofread documents created by others.
  • Pitch original story ideas and research characters for potential segments.
  • Assist with the booking process, including coordinating interviews and guest appearances.
  • Digitize and log media content, as well as transcriptions services, ensuring it is organized and accessible for the production team.
  • Organize and maintain systems for tracking production flow and deliverables.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Sharp written and verbal communication skills, including flawless grammar and a rich vocabulary
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment while prioritizing deadlines/deliverables
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and able to meet deadlines while working well under pressure
  • Complete reliability handling confidential, often highly sensitive information
  • Highly professional demeanor, positive outlook and a can-do attitude with a desire to immerse yourself fully and learn all aspects of the business

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Interest in entertainment, current affairs, world events, pop culture, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience (academic or internship) in broadcast or print journalism

Education:

  • Major or previous coursework in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Film/Television or a related field
  • Junior or Senior year preferred

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information:

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship and be fully available to work 40 hours per week from June 2026 through early January 2027
  • Able to provide own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship program in the NY, NY area

The pay rate for this role in New York is $22.50 per hour.
