Position Title: AC Technician (Air Conditioning Technician)

Reports To: HVAC Supervisor / Maintenance Manager

Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and reliable AC Technician to install, maintain, and repair air-conditioning systems for residential, commercial, or industrial clients. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, good troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair air-conditioning systems and components.
• Diagnose AC issues by inspecting systems, identifying malfunctions, and performing tests.
• Clean, adjust, and repair systems and perform warranty services.
• Install and maintain HVAC controls, thermostats, compressors, motors, and related components.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure system efficiency.
• Recharge refrigerants and manage proper handling of refrigerant gases according to safety standards.
• Install ductwork and ventilation systems as required.
• Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
• Provide accurate estimates for repairs and installations.
• Prepare detailed reports on work completed and maintain service records.
• Communicate professionally with customers to explain issues, repairs, and maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or HVAC certification preferred.
• Proven experience as an AC or HVAC Technician (typically 2–5 years).
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical components, and mechanical systems.
• EPA certification or equivalent (as required for refrigerant handling in your region).
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, gauges, and HVAC equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good physical condition and ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license Preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with commercial/industrial HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of VRF/VRV systems, chillers, and split/ductless systems.
• Familiarity with smart thermostats and building management systems (BMS).
• Basic electrical and plumbing skills related to HVAC work.

Work Environment

• Indoor and outdoor worksites depending on the job.
• Exposure to heights, confined spaces, noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
• May require on-call or emergency service availability.
