AC Technician – Ammonia Plant (Cold Storage)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced AC Technician with expertise in ammonia-based refrigeration systems for cold storage facilities. The candidate will be responsible for the installation, operation, preventive maintenance, and repair of ammonia refrigeration plants, HVAC systems, and associated equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, monitor, and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems in cold storage facilities.
• Carry out routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of compressors, condensers, evaporators, cooling towers, valves, and other refrigeration/HVAC equipment.
• Detect leaks, repair and recharge ammonia systems, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain proper temperature and humidity levels inside cold storage chambers.
• Perform installation and servicing of air conditioning units, chillers, and related equipment.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards while handling ammonia and other refrigerants.
• Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and daily operation checklists.
• Coordinate with supervisors and cold storage operations team for efficient plant performance.
• Assist in training junior staff on safe operating procedures and best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Diploma/ITI in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an AC Technician in ammonia-based refrigeration plants, preferably in cold storage or food industry.
• Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems, industrial chillers, compressors, and HVAC controls.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and drawings.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and emergency handling of ammonia leaks.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physically fit and able to work in cold environments.
• UAE/GCC experience preferred.
