The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) in conjunction with IU Health Medical Group (IUHMG), is expanding its team given continued growth within the IU Health system. The department is seeking to recruit an academic anatomic pathologist with subspeciality expertise in Gastrointestinal and Cytopathology to join its faculty. The Pathology team serves over 10 hospitals within the IU Health Hospital network and Eskenazi Health. Anatomic pathology is currently comprised of 55 pathologists. The academic track and rank of the appointment will be determined by qualifications and level of experience.

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate or Terminal degree is required. The applicant must be certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic pathology or anatomic and clinical pathology. Fellowship training in cytopathology, gastrointestinal pathology, or equivalent dedicated practice experience required. Applicants must be qualified for licensure in the state of Indiana.

The IU Health Pathology Laboratory resides in a 150,000-square-foot dedicated central laboratory building in downtown Indianapolis with first-class facilities. The lab processes over 100,000 cases per year, and houses an electron microscopy laboratory, eight full-time certified pathologists’ assistants, twenty residents and eleven different fellowships. IU Health pathologists are engaged in promoting innovation and excellence in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, with strong support for research in an environment that provides the ability to collaborate with a diverse cadre of subspecialized pathologists.
