Academic Tutor (Part-Time) – Gahanna / Columbus Area

About the Role

My Learning Labs is expanding its student support program and is looking for part-time academic tutors to work with small groups of students in the Columbus area. Our program focuses on structured learning sessions designed to help students build confidence and strengthen core academic skills.

This position is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with students and want a flexible part-time role in a supportive learning environment. Tutors receive training, guidance, and prepared lesson materials to help them lead engaging sessions.

Responsibilities

• Guide students through structured academic activities in small groups
• Help students strengthen key learning skills and stay engaged in lessons
• Adjust explanations to match different student learning styles
• Track attendance and follow session guidelines
• Maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment

Work Schedule

• Primary location: Gahanna
• Current session timing: 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
• Opportunities for weekday and weekend sessions as the program grows
• Tutors interested in working at multiple sites may benefit from having a personal vehicle

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable and punctual with consistent availability
• Interest in education and supporting student learning
• Prior tutoring, mentoring, or teaching experience is helpful but not required

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive hourly rate: $15 – $25 per hour, depending on experience
