Indiana University Health Medical Group and Indiana University School of Medicine are seeking an Adult Vascular Neurologist to join our team at the IU Health Neuroscience Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. This academic appointment includes opportunity for both research and teaching. A strong commitment to clinical teaching of residents and medical students is expected. Faculty appointment is commensurate with experience.

Position Details:

The IU Health Neuroscience Center is designated as a Center for Care by the National Parkinson Foundation and a Center of Excellence by the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. Indiana's first Comprehensive Stroke Center employs a highly trained and experienced stroke care team, with a system of 18 hospitals ready to assess, treat and manage the effects of stroke. The telestroke service currently serves three outlying sites with plans to expand both within the IU Health system and beyond.

Join an academic team of general and specialty neurologists that includes eight vascular neurologists with various backgrounds, experiences and interests. In addition to the core faculty at IU, there are two additional stroke faculty working at the Veterans Hospital and Eskenazi Health.

The stroke service is mainly a consulting service for Methodist Hospital. The inpatient stroke team sees all currently admitted stroke patients. There is an "acute service" that works during business hours to care for all in-house stroke activations, transfer center calls, telestroke calls and mobile stroke unit patients. Stroke staff provide 24-hour coverage for acute stroke care and consulting questions.

Qualifications:

  • Must be BE/BC in Vascular Neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
