Job Description Summary
This position—housed in the Center for Access & Advocacy—reports to the Assistant Dean of Student Engagement and Retention.
The purpose of this position is to engage in a collaborative process that researches student retention issues and strategies, assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the options and services required to meet the students’ academic, social, and/or emotional needs. The work is characterized by advocacy, communication, collaboration, and resource management and promotes quality and cost-effective interventions and outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree.
Three (3) years related work experience.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
Must be motivated, self-directed and have the ability and willingness to communicate effectively with various populations in a positive, courteous and professional manner.
Exceptional administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong commitment to personal and professional growth.
Demonstrated problem solving skills.
Demonstrated analytical skills to analyze data and implement or recommend effective courses of action.
Ability to travel between buildings and campuses.
Demonstrated customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling, Student Development/Student Affairs, Rehabilitation and/or Vocational Counseling, Education, Special Education, or related field.
Experience working with at-risk student populations.
Familiar with local social services and community resource agencies.
Experience with Case Management.
