About RocParty
RocParty is a fast-growing party retail brand expanding into the U.S. market in 2026. With an established e-commerce presence on Amazon and our DTC site (rocparty.com), we are now launching our physical retail stores across Northern California, with plans to scale into a national multi-store chain over the next 3–5 years.
We design, develop, and sell costumes, party wear, accessories, and seasonal products for Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and other major holidays. Our mission is to bring fresh, trend-driven, and culturally relevant party products to American consumers.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a creative Accessory Designer to join us as an independent contractor and lead seasonal accessory design across our holiday and party product categories. This is an ideal engagement for an experienced accessory designer who thrives on translating cultural moments into wearable, novelty, and statement pieces.
Scope of Work
- Design original seasonal accessory collections including headwear (hats, headbands, ears, antlers), masks, jewelry, hair accessories, hosiery, gloves, bags, and novelty wearables
- Develop accessory concepts that complement and extend our seasonal apparel and costume collections
- Conduct trend research across U.S. accessory markets, pop culture, social media (TikTok, Instagram), and competitive seasonal retailers
- Create technical drawings, material specifications, and 3D references suitable for handoff to manufacturing partners
- Collaborate with the development team on materials, hardware, and construction
- Review samples and refine designs through the development cycle
- Contribute to product storytelling, mood boards, and visual presentations for internal review
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of professional accessory design experience (jewelry, headwear, handbags, softgoods, novelty wearables, or related accessory categories)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating original accessory design work, including technical specifications and finished product examples
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; 3D modeling tools (Rhino, KeyShot, Blender) a plus
- Working knowledge of accessory construction, materials (textiles, plastics, metals, foam), and basic hardware
- Strong sense of trend, color, and material innovation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently across time zones
- Based in the United States with valid work authorization
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience designing costume accessories, headwear, masks, novelty wearables, or licensed character merchandise
- Background in softgoods, jewelry, or specialty accessory categories
- Understanding of U.S. seasonal retail calendars and accessory price-point dynamics
Compensation & Engagement
- Engagement type: 1099 Independent Contractor
- Location: Fully remote, U.S.-based
- Monthly engagement fee: $4,000–$5,000 (commensurate with experience and project scope)
- Performance incentives: Additional milestone payments tied to commercial success of designed collections
