Position Overview

The Account Executive plays a key role in supporting an Account Executive Director by managing day-to-day client relationships, coordinating operational tasks, and ensuring a seamless experience for both clients and consultants. This position serves as an instrumental role in developing a successful career in account management within the IT consulting industry. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and eager to learn from experienced mentors while contributing your sales and account management experience directly.

Account Management

  • Support clients through both York’s Workforce Delivery Team (staff augmentation) and Technology Solutions Group.
  • Partner with the Delivery Team in identifying top IT talent to fulfill client needs.
  • Foster new business by contacting and meeting with prospective client leaders to establish their needs, hiring cycles, and build relationships.
  • Increase sales and market share through assigned and newly generated business within existing client organization and new department leads.
  • Identify, develop, and manage new and existing client relationships by leveraging resources including but not limited to Bullhorn and LinkedIn.
  • Lead pitches, prepare and present sales proposals to prospective clients.
  • Perform outreach to targeted client leaders and document weekly activity.

Operational Support

  • Maintain and update requisition details in Bullhorn (BH), including clear notes, required skills, and position updates.
  • Attend supplier calls with client to maintain alignment, provide updates, and support ongoing partnerships.
  • Assist with Consultant Visa transfers, client letters, audits, and other administrative requests in partnership with the Operations team.

Client-Facing Support

  • Manage contact tracking and recurring client meetings, ensuring consistent engagement across accounts.
  • Partner with the York VP and Director to identify, engage, and follow up with key client contacts and prospects.
  • Support York's Link to Leadership (L2L) initiatives, Think IT attendance tracking, and alumni engagement outreach.
  • Assist in coordinating monthly client events, including catering, scheduling, and attendee management.
  • Attend discovery and intake calls to ensure alignment on client needs and open roles.
  • Track manager and organizational changes within client accounts to identify new business opportunities.

Interview & Onboarding Coordination

  • Schedule and confirm interviews between consultants and hiring managers, ensuring candidates have all required information.
  • Oversee IT consultant onboarding, including background check and drug screen clearance, start packet preparation, and equipment coordination.
  • Walk IT consultants in for their first day as required, ensuring a positive and organized onboarding experience.
  • Partner with York Operations Team to manage consultant offboarding, including communication, system updates, and equipment return tracking.

Account Maintenance & Success

  • Monitor progress on open positions to ensure recruiting priorities align with client needs.
  • Track and submit rate increase requests, extensions, and other consultant lifecycle activities.
  • Support the completion of client audits and ensure data accuracy within internal systems.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly check-ins with the York VP and Director to evaluate progress, discuss client updates, and identify new opportunities for growth.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in account management, client relations, or sales (internships or IT consulting exposure a plus).
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent presentation skills and a high standard of professionalism
  • Self-driven and goal oriented, with a strong work ethic and sense of commitment.
  • The ability to overcome obstacles without becoming discouraged and readily collaborate with others to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to establish, cultivate and nurture relationships.
  • A strong propensity to learn.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Bullhorn, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a desire to learn and grow under the mentorship of a Senior Account Executive.
