Overview
As an Account Manager in the Retail sector, you will be at the forefront of the business's interactions with key clients, ensuring that their needs are met and that they remain satisfied and loyal. This role is integral to maintaining and growing the company's market presence and involves strategic account planning, relationship building, and resolving client issues with innovative solutions. You will work closely with both external clients and internal teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience, expanding the client accounts and ensuring all retail objectives are achieved. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, and a robust understanding of retail market dynamics.
Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture long term relationships with key retail clients to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
- Act as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to assigned accounts within the retail sector.
- Conduct regular client meetings to understand their needs, challenges, and opportunities for account growth.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions according to client needs.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to upsell and cross sell services that add value to client accounts.
- Prepare detailed account plans and strategies to optimize client retention and revenue generation.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of client interactions and transactions in CRM systems.
- Monitor and report on key account metrics such as customer satisfaction, account growth, and contract renewals.
- Address any issues clients face and resolve complaints quickly and effectively.
- Stay updated with industry trends and competitive landscape to proactively address potential challenges.
- Attend industry events and trade shows to network and promote company offerings.
- Provide proactive recommendations to clients to enhance their retail performance and success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an Account Manager or similar role in the retail industry.
- Strong understanding of customer relationship management and sales principles.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to facilitate client discussions.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously, prioritizing effectively.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite for managing accounts.
- Adept at data analysis and good with numbers and understanding retail financials.
- Strong problem solving skills and the capacity to think strategically and innovate.
