Accountability Court Director (FT)

This position is responsible for the overall coordination, management, administration, and

operation of the Habersham County Drug Court, Stephens County Drug Court, Rabun County

Drug Court, Family Dependency Treatment Court, and Mental Health Court. This position

reports directly to the Accountability Court Judge(s) and is contingent on the successful renewal

of grant funds. Must be available for on-call duties outside of regular business hours.

Major Duties:

  • Participates as a central member of the Accountability Court Team acting as a liaison among
the program staff, Judges, defense and prosecuting attorneys, probation officers, law

enforcement, treatment providers, and participants.

  • Leads staffing so that all parties can be heard for the purpose of coordinating services for
participants, reinforcing treatment and addressing sanctions and incentives.
  • Assists the Judge during all court proceedings – twice per month per program.
  • Guides new referrals through process for legal screening and clinical assessment. Works with
Coordinators of other programs as needed for transfers.
  • Informs the team of pertinent or urgent reports between hearings through texting groups,
email, or meetings.
  • Ensures that policies protect the rights of participants and follow best practices and updates
the Policy and Procedures Manual and Participant Handbook as needed.
  • Develops positive morale for interdisciplinary teams through ethical and professional
conduct, clear and consistent communication, regular staff meetings, annual staff retreats,

and adherence to standard operating procedures.

  • Coordinates all components of the Accountability court program to ensure it remains
operational with optimum efficiency and effectiveness including Team MOU’s.
  • Plans, implements, and develops programs and/or treatment tracks within the scope of
Accountability Courts to meet the needs of the identified population.
  • Provides ancillary services to participants through fostered community partnerships through
advocacy and referral: transportation, employment assistance, medical and dental care,

housing, psychiatric treatment, domestic violence services, mentoring, and alumni groups.

  • Manages monthly drug-screening schedule to ensure all participants are scheduled for an
observed screen with a gender-same screener a minimum of 2 times per week.
  • Attends all mandatory trainings and seek to stay informed with evolving best practices.
  • Conducts program evaluation through participant surveys, quarterly data reports, peer
reviews, audits, etc., and makes changes to address identified disparities.
  • Follows all standards and guidelines of the Georgia Council of Accountability Court Judges.
  • Completes annual grant solicitation and complies with grant award conditions.
  • Completes annual Court Operating Profile and applies for bi-annual Program Certification.
  • Completes quarterly grant reimbursement, data reports, budget adjustments, waivers, and
related documentation.
  • Registers self and Team Members for the CACJ Annual Conference.
  • Completes mandatory trainings for Coordinator Certification.
  • Ensures programming complies with the Ten Key Components and CACJ Standards.
  • Registers the Team for Tune Up Training every 3-5 years.
  • Participates in Peer Reviews every 3 years.
  • Functions as the Department Head for the County government.
  • Ensures program staff comply with County policies and procedures and receive updates as
they occur.
  • Coordinates with the Human Resources Department by coordinating implementation and
termination of program staff.
  • Reviews, approves, and submits bi-weekly time sheets for program staff.
  • Provides evaluations and performance recommendations at the completion of 90- day
probationary period and annually thereafter for all program staff.
  • Coordinates with the Information Technology Department by assisting program staff in
coordinating with IT to set up new email and phone accounts, resolve any technical issues,

and approve security clearances and ensures all program staff complete technology safety

trainings as requested.

  • Must be available for on-call duties outside of regular business hours.
  • Performs other related duties as required for the efficient operations of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field. Preference
given to those with Master’s degree, licensure, or certification in Human Services.
  • Three years of experience working in a similar position.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and be willing to drive personal vehicle between Banks,
Rabun, Habersham, and Stephens Counties as needed, as well as to attend out-of-area

trainings or events.

  • Must pass a Background/Reference Check and Pre-Employment Drug Screenings.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience which provides the
requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
