This position is responsible for the overall coordination, management, administration, and
operation of the Habersham County Drug Court, Stephens County Drug Court, Rabun County
Drug Court, Family Dependency Treatment Court, and Mental Health Court. This position
reports directly to the Accountability Court Judge(s) and is contingent on the successful renewal
of grant funds. Must be available for on-call duties outside of regular business hours.
Major Duties:
- Participates as a central member of the Accountability Court Team acting as a liaison among
the program staff, Judges, defense and prosecuting attorneys, probation officers, law
enforcement, treatment providers, and participants.
- Leads staffing so that all parties can be heard for the purpose of coordinating services for
participants, reinforcing treatment and addressing sanctions and incentives.
- Assists the Judge during all court proceedings – twice per month per program.
- Guides new referrals through process for legal screening and clinical assessment. Works with
Coordinators of other programs as needed for transfers.
- Informs the team of pertinent or urgent reports between hearings through texting groups,
email, or meetings.
- Ensures that policies protect the rights of participants and follow best practices and updates
the Policy and Procedures Manual and Participant Handbook as needed.
- Develops positive morale for interdisciplinary teams through ethical and professional
conduct, clear and consistent communication, regular staff meetings, annual staff retreats,
and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Coordinates all components of the Accountability court program to ensure it remains
operational with optimum efficiency and effectiveness including Team MOU’s.
- Plans, implements, and develops programs and/or treatment tracks within the scope of
Accountability Courts to meet the needs of the identified population.
- Provides ancillary services to participants through fostered community partnerships through
advocacy and referral: transportation, employment assistance, medical and dental care,
housing, psychiatric treatment, domestic violence services, mentoring, and alumni groups.
