Job Title: Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with proven F&B (food & beverage) experience to manage day-to-day accounting operations for our restaurants / outlets / catering business. The role covers routine accounting, POS & cash reconciliations, inventory & cost control support, supplier payments, payroll support and month-end reporting — all with an F&B lens.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain full set of books: journal entries, ledger posting, prepayments, accruals and month-end close activities.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analysis and supporting schedules for management review.
  • Daily POS / Sales reconciliation — reconcile outlet sales, cash, credit card batching, discounts, comps and tips with Z-reports and bank deposits.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, merchant settlements and petty cash.
  • Accounts payable: verify supplier invoices, match GRNs, process payments and maintain vendor aging.
  • Accounts receivable: raise invoices for catering or corporate accounts, follow up on collections and maintain AR aging.
  • Support inventory & food cost control: reconcile stock counts to inventory records, assist in costing of menus/recipes, investigate variances and report wastage.
  • Payroll support: prepare payroll inputs, statutory deductions and reconciliations (coordinate with HR/payroll provider).
  • Assist with budgeting, monthly forecasts and cash flow monitoring for outlets.
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements (VAT/GST, withholding tax) and assist with tax filings and audit requests.
  • Maintain and improve accounting procedures and internal controls for outlet operations.
  • Liaise with operations, procurement and F&B management to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely financial information.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing schedules and explanations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent. ACCA / CPA / CMA is an advantage.
  • Minimum 2–4 years’ accounting experience in the F&B, restaurant, hotel or catering sector (experience with multi-outlet operations strongly preferred).
  • Hands-on experience reconciling POS systems, merchant settlements and outlet cash handling procedures.
