Accountant

JOB SUMMARY:

An experienced senior accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions.

Senior accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful senior accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate has also experience collaborating and/or managing a team of accountants and junior accountants.

Senior accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all our accounting tasks.

MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Review daily, monthly accounting entries.
• Review and reconcile Accounts payable and Accounts receivable
• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
• Review of monthly and quarterly VAT calculations and returns
• Review tax requirements and tax obligations per entity
• Cooperate with external accounting consultants and external auditors
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP principles
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
• Participate in the budget process and monitors budget versus actual reports

Education & Field of Study

• BS degree in Accounting,or Finance
• Professional certification (e.g. ACCA or CPA, SOCPA) is highly desirable.

Relevant Experience

• Proven experience as senior or chief accountant, financial controller
• Knowledge of local and international accounting principles
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Tax and VAT requirements knoweldge
• Familiarity with advanced accounting software packages, like Odoo

Skills

• Advanced MS Excel skills is highly desirable.
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
