Position Summary:

The accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring the integrity of financial data. The role requires strong mathematical aptitude, attention to detail, and a sound understanding of accounting principles. The incumbent will assist in day-to-day accounting operations, support month-end and year-end closing activities, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and journals in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Perform bank, vendor, customer, and intercompany reconciliations on a periodic basis.
  • Verify, record, and reconcile all financial transactions in the accounting system.
  • Process vendor invoices, payments, receipts, and employee reimbursements with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Identify and investigate discrepancies or variances in accounts and ensure timely resolution.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, auditors, and external stakeholders for reconciliation and reporting purposes.
  • Maintain proper documentation, filing, and record-keeping of all financial data.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in accounting or a similar capacity (experience in reconciliation preferred).
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or Zoho Books.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling financial information.
