Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive
Accountant
to support the financial operations of GMG’s Egypt business unit. This role covers a wide range of accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, treasury, payroll, and financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles (including IFRS), and hands-on experience with accounting systems and tools. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with GMG policies.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger

Execute monthly general ledger procedures including journal entries, account analysis, and discrepancy resolution.

Reconcile sub-ledgers with the general ledger monthly and during year-end closing.

Record adjusting, closing, and reversing entries as needed.
Accounts Payable

Process invoices, match with purchase orders and delivery notes, and resolve discrepancies.

Prepare payments (cheques, cash, wire transfers) and related journal vouchers.

Reconcile accounts with suppliers and vendors periodically.
Accounts Receivable
-
Manage customer receipts, credit/debit notes, and maintain customer files.

Follow up on collections and update stakeholders on overdue payments.

Maintain and close the accounts receivable ledger monthly.
Fixed Assets

Maintain the fixed assets master file and ensure accurate capitalization.

Assist in preparing annual statements for asset disposals.
Treasury
-
Perform daily bank reconciliations across multiple currencies.

Monitor credit lines and ensure fund availability for maturities.

Support foreign currency management and fund reallocation for optimal returns.
Payroll
-
Process monthly payroll and benefits in line with GMG policies.

Verify payroll inputs and resolve discrepancies.

Collaborate with HR to interpret payroll policies and employee entitlements.
Reporting & Compliance

Prepare monthly and ad-hoc financial reports (e.g., sales, margins, inventory, P&L, cash flow).

Ensure all accounting entries are supported by valid documentation.

Coordinate with auditors to resolve accounting issues.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.

Master’s degree preferred.

2–3 years of relevant experience in financial accounting.

Knowledge of IFRS and accounting systems (SAP, Tally, Oracle, etc.).
