As an Accountant, your role will be to ensure timely processing, accounting and payments of supplier invoices, incentive and refunds. Carry out processing and reconciliation of Sales/Revenue Recognition/Interline transactions and non-airline partner billings by providing assurance on completeness and accuracy through internal control and review. Identify discrepancies through audit, raise undercollections, investigate movements in balances and ensure accurate reconciliations with minimal exceptions and adjustment needs. Manage a team of Junior Accountants and monitor performance, productivity, and effectiveness of the designated section (Non airport including IFS or Airport area) in cash management and other Customer Services Analyse and report flight revenue yields, ensure all functional units are aligned with the Group Financial Policies and Procedures, update related masters accurately and on timely basis. Compile, monitor and follow up on the accounting and control reports from the outstations and validate contents through appropriate analysis.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure timely generation of tax reports, analyse to ensure quality/accuracy of data, variance and resolution of related open items/queries.
  • Ensure accurate and timely generation and validation of monthly tax reports from systems in line with guidelines, check the integrity of interfaces and completeness of data generated.
  • Ensure timely delivery of tax reports so generated to the FAMs/ASMs or any other recipients as per the guidelines.
  • Collate and maintain the data repository of all ticket taxes applicable to Emirates’ online stations.
  • Coordinate with various departments to resolve issues to ensure ticket tax compliance.
  • Assist Finance Officer and Finance Controller in any ad-hoc activities.
Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • 12 yrs schooling + a degree in Accoutning.
  • 4+ years relevant experience.


You'll have an edge if you have:

  • Accounting knowledge preferably from an airline background.
  • High level of computer literacy and good knowledge of office automation software like Word, Excel, MS Access and Powerpoint
  • Good analytical and investigative skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with various stakeholders across the business.
  • Ability to function independently within an established framework
