We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Accountant with a strong Legal Background to manage financial operations while supporting compliance, contracts, and legal documentation. The ideal candidate will have a combination of accounting expertise and legal knowledge, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to UAE laws, regulations, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & Financial Management
- Prepare, maintain, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Manage daily accounting operations: AP, AR, petty cash, bank reconciliations.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and analysis as required.
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with VAT filings, returns, and documentation.
2. Legal & Compliance Support
- Review contracts, agreements, and legal documents from an accounting perspective.
- Ensure financial clauses in contracts comply with UAE laws (including Commercial Companies Law & UAE Labour Law).
- Support management in drafting, reviewing, and modifying agreements (supplier, client, subcontractor, lease contracts, etc.).
- Maintain updated knowledge of VAT, corporate tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Liaise with legal advisors when required on outstanding legal matters.
3. Corporate Governance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate legal and financial records, documentation, and filing systems.
- Support in preparation of board resolutions, legal notices, and statutory documents.
- Handle compliance-related submissions with government portals (MOHRE, FTA, ADDED, etc.) when required.
4. Internal Control & Audit
- Implement strong internal controls to protect company assets.
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors for annual audits.
- Ensure financial processes are in line with company policies and legal standards.
5. Interdepartmental Coordination
- Work closely with HR, Procurement, Admin, Operations, and Management to ensure smooth business workflow.
- Provide financial guidance and legal interpretation to departments when needed.
RequirementsQualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Additional qualification in Law / Legal Studies (LLB or Diploma) is preferred.
- Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, CMA) are an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of UAE experience in accounting.
- Experience in handling or reviewing legal documents/contracts.
- Knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax is mandatory.
