Job Title: Accountant

Location: Kolkata, West Bengal (On-site)
Work Type: Full-time
Timings: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Monday to Saturday)
Salary: ₹17,000 – ₹23,000 per month (based on experience)
Experience: 2–3 years
Preferred: Candidates from Kolkata (near Raja katra, College Street Market)
Joining: Immediate joiners preferred

About the Role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our growing retail team. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about accounting, compliance, and financial accuracy, and who thrive in a structured, fast-paced environment.

You will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting management with financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and ledger entries.
• Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and reports.
• Manage month-end and year-end closings and perform reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, ITR, and other statutory requirements.
• Handle inventory accounting and cost analysis.
• Support internal and external audits with complete documentation.
• Process contra, journal, receipt, and payment entries accurately.
• Coordinate with teams to optimize costs and improve financial processes.
• Follow accounting standards, company policies, and maintain accurate financial records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Proficient in Tally (knowledge of Zoho Books or other ERP tools is a plus).
• Strong understanding of AP/AR, GST, MIS reporting, and compliance.
• Experience with inventory accounting (Fruits & Vegetables domain preferred).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel and accounting tools.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines efficiently.
