Accountant

Job Summary:

The Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with statutory regulations. This role includes preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, supervising junior accounting staff, and supporting audits and budget preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department (A/P, A/R, GL, bank reconciliations, etc.)
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Ensure timely and accurate posting of journal entries, reconciliations, and closing activities.
• Review and verify financial transactions, documents, and reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
• Coordinate and complete annual audits with internal and external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and statutory requirements (GST, TDS, PF, ESI, Income Tax, etc.).
• Assist management in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
• Support cash flow management, expense tracking, and cost control initiatives.
• Supervise and guide junior accountants and accounts assistants.
• Liaise with banks, vendors, and other stakeholders as required.
