About the Position
We are looking for an Accountant to join our Finance team for a permanent full-time position. The successful candidate will report to the Director, Finance. They will manage and coordinate all aspects of accounting and will be responsible for conducting high-level analysis of revenue, credit, expenses and overhead. What you'll be working on:
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete posting processes within Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains)
  • Review daily banking transactions and perform timely reconciliations with the General Ledger
  • Prepare and review bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations, investigate variances, and post necessary adjustments
  • Prepare journal entries for month-end close, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual internal financial statements within established deadlines
  • Perform analytical reviews, trial balance variance analysis, and assist with preparing monthly commentary and OPEX analysis reports
  • Identify intercompany differences, investigate root causes, and communicate findings to local accounting teams for resolution
  • Maintain fixed asset registers, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals
  • Maintain prepaid expense schedules and perform systematic monthly amortization
  • Calculate, reconcile, and monitor multi-country and multi-currency balances
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for vendor setup and ensure accurate and timely invoice processing
  • Maintain accounting systems and reconciliation registers, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial records
  • Assist with quarterly disclosure reporting, templates, and supporting schedules
  • Generate and maintain complete and accurate accounting records in accordance with IFRS and internal controls
  • Support and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and documentation of accounting procedures
  • Work closely with the Director, Managers, Operations team, and other senior stakeholders to support financial and business requirements
Requirements :
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Finalist / Qualified Professional Accountant or bachelor's degree in Accounting or business administration
  • Knowledge of multi-currency transactions
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, using excel vlookup and pivot tables in data analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with GP an asset
