Job Title: Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounts
Reporting To: Finance Manager / Director
Location: Head Office (with coordination with sites & showroom/workshop)

Job Purpose

To manage accounting, statutory compliance, billing, and financial controls for both Motors (sales, service, spares) and Construction/Project operations, ensuring accurate books of accounts and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain books of accounts in Tally/ERP for motors and construction divisions.
  • Record daily transactions: sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
  • Maintain ledgers, trial balance, and monthly closing.
  • Reconcile bank statements, cash books, and credit cards.

2. Motors / Automobile Accounting

  • Accounting of vehicle sales, service invoices, and spare parts billing.
  • Track receivables from customers, financiers, and insurers.
  • Handle incentives, discounts, warranty claims, and dealer commissions.
  • Maintain stock accounting for vehicles and spares.
  • Reconcile workshop/job card billing with collections.

3. Construction / Project Accounting

  • Accounting of project-wise expenses and cost centers.
  • Verification of vendor bills against PO, GRN, and work completion.
  • Maintain RA bills, advances, retention money, and deductions.
  • Track project budgets, cost overruns, and profitability.
  • Support site teams for billing and documentation.

4. GST & Statutory Compliance

  • Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B).
  • Reconcile GSTR-2B with purchase registers.
  • Handle e-invoicing and e-way bills.
  • Ensure TDS compliance under Income Tax and GST.
  • Coordinate with consultants for statutory filings.

5. Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process vendor payments as per agreed credit terms.
  • Follow up for outstanding receivables.
  • Prepare aging reports for debtors and creditors.
  • Control advances to vendors, sites, and employees.

6. Inventory & Fixed Assets

  • Maintain inventory records for vehicles, spares, and construction materials.
  • Coordinate physical stock verification.
  • Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation.

7. MIS & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly MIS: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow.
  • Generate division-wise and project-wise reports.
  • Support management in financial planning and audits.

8. Audit & Controls

  • Assist internal and statutory auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and SOPs.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Accuracy of books and timely closures
  • GST & statutory compliance with zero penalties
  • Receivable collection efficiency
  • Vendor payment cycle adherence
  • Inventory reconciliation accuracy

Required Qualifications

  • B.Com / M.Com
  • CA Inter / CMA Inter (preferred)
  • 3–6 years of experience in automobile and/or construction accounting

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Tally, Excel, ERP systems
  • Sound understanding of GST, TDS, compliance
  • Ability to handle multi-business accounting
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good coordination and communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in automobile dealership / service center
  • Experience in construction / contracting / interior fit-out projects

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
