Job Purpose

The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, project accounts, cost control, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for construction projects in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate books of accounts for construction projects.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and project ledgers.

2. Project Cost Control

  • Monitor project costs, budgets, and expenditures.
  • Track material costs, labor costs, subcontractor payments, and variations.
  • Assist in budget preparation and cost forecasting.

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process supplier invoices and subcontractor bills.
  • Prepare payment vouchers and ensure timely payments.
  • Monitor client invoices, progress billings, and collections.

4. Billing & Certification

  • Prepare progress invoices, variation claims, and final accounts.
  • Coordinate with project engineers for work completion certifications.
  • Track retention, advance payments, and deductions.

5. Payroll & Wages

  • Prepare payroll for site staff and laborers.
  • Manage overtime, allowances, and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.

6. Taxation & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws (VAT, withholding tax, etc.).
  • Prepare and submit tax returns and statutory reports.
  • Support internal and external audits.

7. Cash Flow & Treasury

  • Monitor project cash flow and fund requirements.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and payment schedules.
  • Manage petty cash and site cash controls.

8. Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Maintain proper filing of contracts, invoices, and financial documents.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of financial records.

9. Coordination & Support

  • Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and HR departments.
  • Support management with financial analysis and reports.
  • Assist in contract administration and financial negotiations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction accounting.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, BOQs, and project costing.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ERP, Tally, SAP) and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR960.00 - QAR1,370.00 per month
