We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the construction or engineering sector. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in general ledger operations, cost accounting, and financial reporting, with the ability to manage complex accounting workflows and ensure compliance with statutory and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and trial balance reconciliation
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS or applicable accounting standards
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and vendor payments
- Develop and maintain payment forecast plans to support financial planning and liquidity management
- Generate and record regular accruals, prepayments, and other adjusting entries as part of period-end closing
- Monitor and manage working capital efficiently, producing accurate cash flow projections
- Optimize cash flow by streamlining accounts receivable and payable processes to maintain operational liquidity
- Identify potential delivery and financial risks, propose mitigation strategies, and manage stakeholder expectations effectively
- Track and analyze project-related costs, performing variance analysis against approved budgets and forecasts
- Assist in payment collection efforts and coordinate with clients and internal teams to resolve outstanding balances
- Conduct bank reconciliations and support treasury operations to ensure accurate cash management
- Prepare audit schedules and documentation to support internal and external audit processes
- Ensure compliance with VAT regulations, including timely filing of returns and maintenance of accurate tax records
- Collaborate with procurement and project teams to validate cost allocations, contract billing, and expense coding
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial data and ensure compliance with company policies
- Prepare management reports, financial summaries, and dashboards to support strategic decision-making
Candidate Profile:
- Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, preferably in construction, engineering, or trading sectors
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, cost control, and financial analysis
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); advanced Excel skills preferred (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle)
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
