The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate accounting records, and supporting financial reporting for an interior fit-out and trading company. The role includes handling project-based accounting, supplier payments, inventory transactions, and ensuring compliance with UAE financial regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting
- Maintain accurate accounting records including journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
Project Accounting (Fit-Out)
- Monitor project costs and budgets for interior fit-out projects.
- Track project expenses, subcontractor payments, and material costs.
- Coordinate with project managers for cost allocation and financial updates.
Trading & Inventory Accounting
- Manage inventory records and stock valuation for trading materials.
- Record purchases, sales, and stock movements.
- Coordinate with the procurement and warehouse teams to ensure accurate stock records.
VAT & Compliance
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with UAE regulations.
- Ensure compliance with UAE tax and financial reporting requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits.
Bank & Cash Management
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly.
- Manage petty cash and company expenses.
- Monitor cash flow and payment schedules.
Reporting & Coordination
- Assist management in budgeting and financial analysis.
- Prepare financial reports for management review.
- Coordinate with auditors during financial audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in interior fit-out, construction, or trading companies.
- Knowledge of project accounting and inventory management.
- Familiarity with VAT regulations in the UAE.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ERP systems (Tally, Zoho, SAP, or similar).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and financial records simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Good communication and reporting abilities.
