Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
- Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and accurate record-keeping.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliations to maintain precise financial records.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to inform strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and other regulatory standards relevant to corporate and governmental accounting.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights into financial data.
- Maintain proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
- Support tax preparation efforts by managing tax experience related to non-profit accounting or corporate finance activities.
- Contribute to financial report writing and interpretation to facilitate clear communication of financial health across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; CPA certification is preferred but not required.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, or non-profit accounting environments.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC securities law if applicable, and technical accounting standards.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero or equivalent systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles including debits & credits.
- Experience with financial analysis, cash flow analysis, budget management, and regulatory reporting.
- Ability to perform account reconciliation accurately and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent skills in financial report writing and interpretation for diverse audiences.

Pay: $37,440.00 - $49,920.00 per year
