Position Title: Accountant

Job Summary

One of the leading companies in Qatar is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant with strong expertise in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, along with comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting and daily accounting operations.

The ideal candidate must have proven experience in the Qatar market, be fluent in Arabic and English, and demonstrate the ability to manage financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and support financial decision-making. The role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of handling both operational and reporting aspects of accounting.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting Operations

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including recording financial transactions, journal entries, and ledger updates.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Handle all accounting transactions including income, expenses, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Perform bank, cash, and general ledger reconciliations.

Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Process and verify supplier invoices against contracts, LPOs, and supporting documents.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers and service providers.
  • Maintain supplier accounts and perform regular reconciliations.
  • Prepare payment schedules and support cash flow planning.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Prepare and issue invoices to clients in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up for collections.
  • Maintain customer accounts, statements, and aging reports.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and ensure proper account reconciliation.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Generate management reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports to management.

Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with Qatar financial regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
  • Support internal and external audit processes.
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of financial data.

Coordination and Support

  • Coordinate with internal departments for financial data and reporting.
  • Support management with financial insights and recommendations.
  • Assist in improving accounting processes and internal controls.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (ACCA, CMA, CPA) are an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 4–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in Qatar.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting and daily accounting operations.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software (such as Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Ability to prepare reconciliations, aging reports, and financial statements.

Language Requirements

  • Fluent in Arabic and English (both written and spoken) is mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: Up to QAR 7,000 per month
  • Benefits as per Qatar Labor Law
