Job Summary
We are a family owned business seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial standards, and supporting the organization’s financial health. Your expertise will help maintain accurate financial records, facilitate audits, and contribute to strategic decision-making. This position offers an exciting opportunity working with Quick books financial software and collaborate across departments to drive operational excellence.
Duties
- Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Conduct detailed account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks, and other systems for data entry and financial reporting.
- Support payroll management activities by processing payroll data through systems like Venture & Work Force Management while ensuring compliance with tax regulations and labor laws.
- Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support organizational planning efforts.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls to maintain compliance during all accounting processes.
- Prepare tax-related documentation and assist with audits by providing necessary financial records and explanations.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- Atleast 5 years experience
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP standards.
- Proficiency in Quick books accounting software.
- Familiarity with payroll management systems.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance procedures and technical accounting principles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account analysis and reconcile complex accounts accurately.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy in 10-key typing and double-entry bookkeeping practices.
- Ability to interpret financial concepts related to accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger management.
- Experience working in public accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus.
