We are seeking a seasoned Accountant who will play a critical role in safeguarding financial accuracy, ensuring full regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making through robust financial reporting aligned with IFRS standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, a proactive mindset, and comprehensive knowledge of financial and tax frameworks within the UAE and the logistics industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage end-to-end accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in full compliance with IFRS and internal corporate policies
- Ensure strict adherence and compliance with the UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations, including VAT filings, documentation, and audit readiness
- Ensure full Corporate Tax compliance in accordance with UAE regulations, including proper calculation, documentation, and filing requirements
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes with precision and accountability
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and key financial performance indicators
- Ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations, tax laws, and internal control frameworks
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Management to ensure financial alignment
- Lead and coordinate internal and external audits with full transparency and documentation integrity
- Manage and control advance payments to internal drivers for land transportation shipments, ensuring proper authorization, tracking, timely settlement, and accurate recording in line with company policies and audit requirements
- Strengthen financial controls over operational disbursements within the land transport segment to enhance accountability and cost visibility
- Prepare, organize, and provide all required financial schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to external Chartered Accountants for audit, tax filing, and compliance purposes
- Act as the key point of coordination with external auditors and Chartered Accountants to facilitate efficient audit cycles and regulatory submissions
- Review, verify, and authorize all payments, and maintain full accountability for funds transferred to external service providers, including vendors, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation, compliance with contractual terms, and adherence to internal approval protocols
- Establish and enforce robust payment control mechanisms to mitigate financial risk and ensure transparency in vendor transactions
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost control.
REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within logistics or freight forwarding industry
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT, and Corporate Tax regulations, with proven hands-on experience in compliance and reporting
- Practical exposure to handling operational cash advances, driver settlements, vendor payments, and expense control within transport/logistics operations is highly advantageous
- Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational discipline
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage across departments and external auditors
