In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting both operational and strategic financial initiatives. Your expertise will help us maintain accurate financial records, streamline processes, and uphold the highest standards of financial reporting. Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Maintain and update financial software systems such as QuickBooks, Word, Excel, or similar platforms to ensure data integrity.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, including budget variance analysis, credit analysis, and account analysis to support decision-making.
- Perform month-end closing activities, including general ledger accounting, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Utilize technical accounting knowledge to resolve accounting issues related to revenue recognition, tax compliance, or other financial concepts.
Skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Word, Excel or similar platforms.
- Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills; familiarity with double entry bookkeeping is essential.
- Excellent analytical skills for account reconciliation, account analysis, and financial statement preparation.
- Strong mathematical aptitude combined with a solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, budgeting, credit analysis, and account reconciliation.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and supporting external audits.
