We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the financial operations of our automotive garage. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling daily accounting activities, monitoring cash flow, managing inventory records, ensuring tax compliance, and supporting overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Accounting Operations
- Record all daily financial transactions including cash, card, and bank entries
- Prepare and issue invoices for services and spare parts
- Maintain accurate records of expenses and receipts
- Manage petty cash and ensure proper documentation
- Track customer payments and outstanding balances
Accounts Receivable
- Generate customer invoices and statements
- Follow up on pending payments
- Maintain accurate customer account records
- Handle credit accounts for corporate and fleet customers
- Reconcile payments with invoices
Accounts Payable
- Record supplier invoices for spare parts, tools, and materials
- Verify purchase orders against supplier invoices
- Process and schedule payments to vendors
- Maintain supplier accounts and records
- Communicate with suppliers regarding payments and discrepancies
Inventory Management
- Monitor and record spare parts inventory movement
- Maintain stock levels and reorder points
- Track cost of parts used for each job
- Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory
- Coordinate with storekeeper and workshop team to ensure accuracy
Payroll and Staff Expenses
- Prepare monthly payroll for staff and mechanics
- Track attendance, overtime, and commissions
- Manage salary advances and deductions
- Maintain employee expense records
Cash and Banking
- Perform daily cash reconciliation
- Deposit cash into bank accounts
- Record all bank transactions
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations
- Monitor and manage cash flow
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly profit and loss reports
- Track revenue from services and spare parts
- Monitor operating expenses
- Provide financial reports to management
- Analyze profitability by job or service type
Tax and Compliance
- Prepare and file VAT returns in compliance with Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority requirements
- Ensure all invoices meet e-invoicing regulations
- Maintain proper financial records for audits
- Support tax and zakat reporting
Advanced Responsibilities
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning
- Conduct cost analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Support forecasting of revenue and expenses
- Ensure internal controls and prevent financial discrepancies
- Use accounting systems such as QuickBooks or SAP
Garage-Specific Duties
- Link job cards to invoices accurately
- Monitor labor and parts profitability
- Track performance of workshop operations
- Analyze repeat customer activity
- Coordinate with workshop manager on financial matters
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience in accounting, preferably in automotive or workshop industry
- Strong knowledge of VAT regulations in Saudi Arabia
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in inventory management within a garage or workshop
- Knowledge of automotive service operations
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
