JOB FAMILY:

Finance and accounting professionals manage an organization’s financial information and ensure its accuracy. Accounting involves recording and reporting financial transactions, while finance focuses on managing resources and making decisions to maximize value. This function is responsible for creating financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. They also oversee tax compliance, cash and risk management, and investments. By providing insights into financial health, finance/accounting helps guide decision-making, resource allocation, and the organization’s growth and success.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Accountant supports CRST’s financial operations by ensuring accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions, maintaining financial data integrity, and assisting with revenue tracking and collections activities. This role partners with internal departments including Accounts Payable, Billing, Pricing, and Operations to support financial processes, reporting, and forecasting efforts. The Accountant also prepares reports, assists with month-end close activities, analyzes financial data, and supports leadership in financial planning and decision-making.

LOCATION: Onsite in Birmingham, AL

SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday 8AM - 5PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Accurately record and maintain financial transactions and supporting documentation
  • Assist with revenue collection processes and monitor outstanding balances
  • Partner with Accounts Payable, Billing, Pricing, and other departments to resolve financial discrepancies and support operational needs
  • Maintain and update financial databases and records
  • Prepare weekly and ad hoc financial reports as needed
  • Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Analyze financial data to identify inconsistencies, trends, and opportunities for improvement
  • Assist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Support collections efforts and customer account follow-up
  • Review and validate payroll-related financial data for accuracy
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication regarding financial matters and account status
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation
  • Provide support for audits and compliance-related activities
  • Assist with training and process documentation as needed
  • Perform other financial and accounting duties as assigned
  • Support audit requests as necessary

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Accounting or Finance degree
