Accountant

ACCOUNTANT
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as an accountant with at least 2 years experience in basic accounting/bookkeeping. We are looking to fill a part-time position (12-15 hours/week) with a flexible daily schedule that is completely remote.

The accountant’s responsibilities are:

• MUST know how to operate in Great Plains
• Prepare and record month-end closing journal entries, run month-end reports and analysis
• Process full-cycle accounts payable
• Initiate wires and ACH through online banking
• Reconcile general ledger accounts
• Reconcile bank accounts
• Maintain fixed asset records
• Reconcile company credit card accounts
• Prepare servicing reports for 3rd parties
• Prepare 1099-MISC and 1099-INT at year end
• Assist in preparation of audit schedules for annual financial statement audit
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with all departments and outside vendors and customers

To be successful we think you will need…

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or in the process of earning one)
• Knowledge of the insurance industry (specifically private passenger auto lines) is a plus
• Solid understanding of financial statements
• Ability to operate in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
• Inherent ability to pay attention to detail- comes with the territory
• High energy level, positive attitude, strong work ethic and results oriented
