Accountant Assistant

Muscat, Oman

Position Summary

The Accountant Assistant will support the finance department by performing routine accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, assisting in the preparation of reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role is essential for smooth day-to-day financial operations and accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records, invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Support in processing accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  • Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
  • Maintain accurate records in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Odoo, or ERP systems).
  • Assist in preparing tax filings, payroll, and other statutory requirements.
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of financial data.
  • Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documents and schedules.
  • Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal departments regarding financial matters.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Accountant or Finance Manager.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of accounting/finance experience (fresh graduates may also apply for junior roles).
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred Certifications (Optional)

  • Certificate in Accounting/Bookkeeping.
  • Training in ERP/Accounting software.
