Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
- Process and schedule vendor payments accurately in accordance with approved payment terms.
- Record, verify, and code vendor invoices to appropriate general ledger and project accounts.
- Perform regular reconciliation of vendor ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Execute daily bank reconciliations to verify transactions and maintain accurate cash records.
- Prepare and submit detailed daily bank payment reports for management review.
- Coordinate with banking partners to resolve operational issues, including transaction inquiries and payment delays.
- Maintain and report detailed schedules of customer advances, staff advances, prepayments, and company loans.
- Calculate, deduct, and deposit applicable withholding taxes in compliance with Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) regulations.
- Prepare tax challans and assist in the e-filing of withholding tax statements on the FBR portal.
- Support internal audits and assist senior accounts staff as required.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all accounting records.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Hands-on experience with bank and vendor reconciliations
- Familiarity with FBR withholding tax rules and e-filing procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and coordination skills
