Responsibilities
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Support general ledger accounting activities including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Help prepare financial statements, reports, and documentation in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards.
- Reconcile accounts regularly to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy across all financial records.
- Collaborate with the team on payroll management using systems like ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Contribute to internal audits by supporting SOX compliance procedures and assisting with audit documentation requests.
- Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish to coordinate with team members, vendors, and clients seamlessly.
Experience
- Proven experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar financial management tools.
- Familiarity with corporate accounting principles including GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting concepts.
- Prior experience in payroll management systems like ADP or UltiPro is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes, account reconciliation techniques, and journal entry preparation.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts such as balance sheet reconciliation, debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and account analysis.
- Experience working within public accounting firms or non-profit organizations is a plus.
- Excellent math skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and financial analysis.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required to effectively serve diverse teams and stakeholders.
