Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
- Perform daily data entry of transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, and journal entries.
- Reconcile balance sheets, bank statements, and subsidiary ledgers to ensure consistency and accuracy across all financial records.
- Manage payroll processing using systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare financial reports such as income statements, cash flow statements, and budget analyses to support decision-making.
- Assist with tax preparation by maintaining detailed records of deductible expenses and supporting documentation.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards, and governmental accounting requirements when applicable.
- Support internal controls by performing account analysis and account reconciliation procedures regularly.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
- Contribute to process improvements within bookkeeping workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or bookkeeping roles with familiarity in public accounting environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with payroll management systems including ADP, Paychex, Kronos or UltiPro is highly desirable.
- Understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Experience working with SOX compliance standards and governmental accounting practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and account reconciliation efficiently.
- Excellent math skills with proficiency in 10-key typing for accurate data entry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
