Accountant / Bookkeeper - Title Insurance

Job Summary
Vantage Point Title is a leading title insurance and settlement services provider dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our clients. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper with Quickbooks expertise to join our growing team. You will play a critical role in managing our daily financial operations. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling escrow and operating accounts, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Your expertise in QuickBooks and understanding of title insurance financial workflows will be essential to your success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and compliant with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Processing incoming and outgoing wire transfers, managing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing monthly financial statements using QuickBooks.
  • Perform 3-way reconciliations of escrow trust accounts, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations regularly to ensure data integrity.
  • Prepare and process journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions efficiently.
  • Assist with tax preparation, audit support, and ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations within the title insurance industry.
  • Collaborate closely with our escrow officers and management team to resolve any financial discrepancies.
  • Track and remit title insurance premiums to underwriters, calculate and process commission payments, and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in accounting, specifically within the title insurance or real estate settlement industry.
  • You must have extensive, hands-on experience using QuickBooks for both operating and trust accounting.
  • A deep understanding of three-way escrow reconciliations, ALTA best practices, and state regulatory requirements is required.
  • Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation processes.
  • Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices
  • Experience with bank reconciliation, account analysis, budget management, and financial report writing.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
