Accountant (Contracting/Construction Company)

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Male Accountant to join our construction/contracting company in the UAE. The ideal candidate should have strong UAE experience and solid knowledge of accounting practices within the construction sector.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in the UAE (mandatory)
• Experience in a construction or contracting company
• Good knowledge of UAE VAT laws, filing, and compliance
• Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)
• Ability to prepare financial statements, reports, and reconciliations
• Knowledge of cost control, project accounting, and job costing
• Proficient in QuickBooks and MS Excel
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Responsibilities:

• Handle daily accounting operations
• Manage AR/AP, invoicing, collections, and payments
• Follow up on purchases, supplier invoices, and payment status
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with UAE regulations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit requirements
• Coordinate with management on financial planning and financial control

Preferred:

• Experience in construction contracts, variations, and retention
• Available immediately or on short notice
• Strong English communication skills
