Overview & Responsibilities
About the Role
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. This full-time permanent position is only available for Emirati nationals. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of revenue, costs, accruals, and prepayments in accordance with company policies, GAAP, and IFRS. You will also be responsible for maintaining intercompany balance positions, managing credit control, and preparing balance sheet reconciliations. This is an individual contributor role where you will work reliably and independently to meet strict reporting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of revenue and associated costs in accounting records, adhering to company recognition policies, local GAAP, and IFRS.
  • Report accruals and prepayments accurately and on time, in line with company recognition policies, local GAAP, and IFRS.
Accounts Receivable & Billing
  • Process sales invoices and credit notes promptly into the accounting system.
  • Proactively follow up on debts nearing due or overdue, escalating internally as needed to expedite customer remittances.
  • Prepare customer billings promptly, ensuring adherence to contract terms.
Accounts Payable & Expense Management
  • Manage incoming vendor invoices by registering, matching to supporting documentation for authorization, costing according to the chart of accounts, batch controlling, entering into the computerized accounting system, and disbursing.
  • Expedite expense reports regularly, ensuring proper documentation before inputting into accounting records.
General Ledger & Reconciliation
  • Accurately enter all source data into the ERP system, ensuring disbursements are properly approved and documented.
  • Complete monthly reconciliations of various general ledger account balances and resolve adjustments/queries within the subsequent reporting month.
Support & Ad Hoc Tasks
  • Support the SSC Accounting Manager and EMA entity Finance Managers with ad hoc tasks.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or a professional qualification (CPA, CMA, CA, ACCA).
  • Proficient in computer-based accounting systems, including spreadsheet applications.
  • Practical experience in handling all aspects of a company's accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Capable of working effectively to strict reporting deadlines.
  • Fluent in both English and Arabic.
  • Able to work reliably and independently.
Contact with Others
You will work closely with EMA entity Finance Managers, the SSC Accounting Manager, and other SSC Finance Team members. You will also have continuous contact with product (operating) managers and their staff, liaise with counterparts in the U.S. & Europe, and interact with customers and the Elliott Sales Group for cash collection. Additionally, you will have exposure to the company's internal and external auditors.
Base Location & Work Schedule
This is an on-site full time (Mon-Fri) permanent position is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
