Accountant - Finance Administrator

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant - Finance Administrator to join our Ministry team and fulfill the Church and School mission of "Connecting People to Jesus" and vision of "Grace for All Generations" by developing and implementing effective systems of financial management to reconcile all finances, execute accounts payable and maintain all human resource and vendor data on behalf of the Church Treasurer.

Duties

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and month-end closing processes.
  • Oversee accounts payable to ensure timely processing and accuracy.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliation activities to maintain precise financial records.
  • Perform budgeting, forecasting, and financial report writing to support organizational planning.
  • Perform financial statement preparation utilizing Sage software system; utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Facilitate the annual agency Workers Compensation and Step Up audits.
  • Facilitate the year-end 1099 process.
  • Complete required state and federal filings.
  • Participate with the staff team in whole ministry endeavors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years professional accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, double-entry accounting, and financial concepts.
  • High degree of confidentiality , strict attention to detail, extremely organized and efficient.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills for financial report writing and interpretation; mentoring capabilities are desirable.
  • Proficiency in Sage accounting software and Paycor payroll software preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
