We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to manage and oversee financial operations within our automotive care and service business. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, familiarity with industry-specific processes, and the ability to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Accounting:
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and journal entries.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
- Automotive Service Accounting:
- Track and report costs related to vehicle repairs, parts, labor, and service operations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for parts and supplies.
- Monitor service orders, warranties, and vendor accounts.
- Payroll & Tax:
- Process payroll and employee reimbursements.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Prepare and submit tax filings (sales tax, payroll taxes, etc.).
- Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Assist management with budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
- Generate financial reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Analyze cost control opportunities in labor, parts, and operations.
- Compliance & Auditing:
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit readiness.
- Support external audits and ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in the automotive, repair, or service industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and integrity.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) and POS software.
- Knowledge of automotive parts and service operations.
- Experience in cost accounting and job costing methods.
Working Conditions:
