Job Title: F&B Accountant (Cost Controller)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented F&B Accountant. You will be responsible for tracking daily revenue, managing vendor payments, and—most importantly—monitoring Food & Beverage costs to ensure maximum profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Control: Calculate daily/weekly food and beverage costs and investigate significant variances between theoretical and actual costs.
- Inventory Management: Oversee monthly physical stock counts and reconcile them with the Point of Sale (POS) and accounting systems.
- Accounts Payable: Process invoices, verify deliveries against Purchase Orders (POs), and manage relationships with food and liquor vendors.
- Menu Engineering: Work with the Executive Chef to analyze menu item profitability and suggest pricing adjustments.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly P&L statements specifically for the F&B department, highlighting waste, spoilage, and discounts.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Management.
- Experience: 2–4 years of accounting experience specifically within a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and experience with F&B software (e.g., Micros, Oracle Simphony, QuickBooks, or Xero).
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to spot a 2% discrepancy in liquor costs and trace it back to the source.
